Ben Mono is an artist whose diversity commands its own stylistic path. As a producer and DJ his unique framework of sound is always open to new influences and a wide range of directions. He is counted as one of the few musicians today who is a convincing mediator in the struggle between the different scenes.

Based in Berlin now, the artist who is originally from Munich, is active on various platforms such as Ed Banger, Gomma, Compost, Exploited or Permanent Vacation. All the while Ben Mono loves understatement – he simply does not want to hide behind a bunch of project names.

Furthermore his musical vision is strong enough to influence in various very different scenes. Already three years ago, he was a pioneer in mixing digital sound aesthetics with B-Boy vibes. Bit Hop was born.

In the meantime Mono has moved on to new projects. Be it as a guitar player with the band Munk or while playing with indie aesthetics, emphasized for the dancefloor the Dj always pushes the boundaries.

His international audience reacts with enthusiasm. So bookings are coming in from various directions. So in the meantime Ben Mono has performed with such diverse acts as Carl Craig, Dizzee Rascal, Booka Shade, Prins Thomas, MSTRKRFT, Shit Disco and Digitalism amongst others.

On his recent South America tour, he traveled 35.000 kilometers to do 14 shows in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. He will soon be touring the US, Australia and Vietnam; there are also plans to visit China again for the 3rd time.

Currently between gigs he is working on a new album, which will present Bit Hop in combination with elements of live music. Collaborations are already confirmed with TY (UK), the grand old man Rob Birch of the Stereo MCs, Yo Majesty! (not the first time) and Purple Crush - further surprises are to be expected. Among his latest remixes are works for Lorenz Rhode (Exploited Records), Moulinex, Munk and Lars Morston (Killergroove Formula), Niyi, Hello Kate and Zort.

More hot output - stilistically somewhere between David Bowie, New Order and some refreshed 90ies attitude - is about to be released on his new label Disco Mystix, which he has just started with his partner Tobias Schulz in Berlin. First signings are the 2 bands from Berlin and Munich Les Titz Grands and The Hight Voltage Humans.
