La creación electrónica

Electronic music and video art merged in the 1st International Festival of “The Electronic Creation”, which was held on July 16 and 17 in the historic centre of Caceres in the Plaza de San Jorge.

During the two nights, the show delighted a wide audience of over 1000 people that gathered in the popular square of Caceres.

The interaction with the place was one of the most appreciated aspects by the musicians themselves.

Thus, Caceres 2016 achieved one of its original objectives, which was to present the immediate character that defines the electronic creation in the monumental centre - a space full of history.

The festival was opened by the Californian musician Daedelus, who started his small tour around Europe in Caceres presenting his latest album "Love To Make Music To", an album released on Ninja Tune just six weeks before.

Daedelus used a home-made electronic device on the scene, the "Monomer Box," which allowed him a live improvisation.

Hexstatic closed the Wednesday programme with an audiovisual performance based on musical and visual experience created simultaneously reviewing the great hits of rock and pop of the last 30 years, from AC-DC and Led Zeppelin, thorough George Michael and Stevie Wonder, Destiny's Child or even Beck.

On Thursday, Zero DB and DJ Food played on the stage in the Plaza de San Jorge.

Chris Vogado, also known as Zero DB gave the most powerful concert of the whole event. His fusion of tropical rhythms with jazz, hip-hop or house, made the audience dance seduced by the latest trends in electronic music.

Finally, with the performance of DJ Food in Caceres, the public was privileged to witness the seed of an event which, presumably, was about to create a global impact, as the audiovisual performance of Kevin Foakes was a "work in progress" that he had begun to make in Russia three months before and that was to be complete in a show that took place in London last autumn and involved the formal presentation of the first audiovisual adventure of DJ Food.
